Adding Potato to your curry?
If you enjoy potatoes in your curry try this!
Peel & 1/4 4 large potatoes and rub with salt
Heat up oil in a pan and add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
Fry the potato until crispy and brown and set aside
Add them to your curry towards the end of its cooking process
Nom nom!
Curry in a Slowcooker
We've trialled our Craving Curries Balti kit and it worked out well!
Using our Balti Kit:
- Follow method until step 5
- At this point add Bag 'C' and tomatoes then transfer into the Slow cooker
- Cook on Low for approx 6 hours
- Continue step 6 once complete

Using our Lamb Rogan Josh Kit:Skip step 1
Continue with step 2-6
At step 6 add Bag 'D' and miss out the liquid
Transfer into slow cooker
Cook on Low for approx 6 hoursContinue with step 7 once complete
Don't Burn your onions!
When softening onions and you don't want them to colour - fry on a low heat and add splashes of water to the panIf your curry is too hot!
- If it contains tomatoes add an extra one or two while cooking
- If it contains yoghurt add more to the dish while cooking or a spoon full on your plate
If your curry is too salty!
Add pieces of potato or dough - this will absorb some of the liquid which you can replace with plain water, just remember to take them out before serving!
If your curry is not spicy enough!
Fry your favourite spices with sliced green chilli and add to the dish before serving
Your curry is too watery
Rapid boil the pan with the lid off and your extractor on!Get more heat into your dish!
Use the right chillies for your dish - use the chilli pepper heat scale as a guide
If you love the spice but not the heat go with the Bell pepper
But if you like it really hot, hit out with the Naga!
Most people go with the Birds Eye chilli - middle of the range heat
Don't forget like most Indian spices, chillies have excellent health benefits
